A small aquatic plant with a length about 30 centimeters, the Rotala rotundifolia(Wallich. ex Roxb.)Koehne (roundleaf rotala) is erect at the upper half of the stems and crawling at the glabrous lower half. The entire opposite leaves are round or slightly oval, almost sessile. Very common in gullies, swamps, and wetlands, the roundleaf rotala has long inflorescences perching on the stem tops, with very small pink red flowers.
