Pistacia chinensis Bunge. (Chinese pistache)

A large arbor with imparipinnate leaves’ midrib out of the center, the Pistacia chinensis Bunge. (Chinese pistache) has red new leaves, which can be picked and made into tea, called “Chinese pistache tea.” It is dioecious and the flowering seasons are four months. The fruit won’t mature until autumn. Its wood is hard, good for making furniture, ranked as the 1st class broadleaf wood. However, its core of old wood is easy to rot away, thus get the nickname of “rot-core wood” in Chinese.
