Ilex rotunda Thunb (Chinese holly)

An evergreen tree with dark gray bark, smooth branches, and oblong or oval leaves with overall coriaceous substance, sharp apexes, and slightly up-folding,uneven leaves, the Ilex rotunda Thunb (Chinese holly) has umbels and red fruit when ripened. Being an excellent fruit-effect and garden splant specie, it spreads all over low altitude areas throughout Taiwan.
