An evergreen tree, the Ficus septica Burm. f. (Hauil fig tree) is a commom tree species along the seashore. Its entire alternate leaf surfaces are glossy, with conspicuous veins and thick papery substance. The shape of the leaves ranges from oval to broad oval. Large leaves have a length of about 15 to 25 centimeters, with conspicuous cicatricles and often clustering on the twig tops. Its implicit flat round fruit, with edges, attracting insects and birds to forage.
