Papilio polytes pasikrates (common mormon)

Family papilionidae

Distribued all over the plains and mountain areas in Taiwan, especially in Hengchun Peninsula, the male Papilio polytes pasikrates (common mormon) has an array of striped white marks on its black-based wings, while the female has dark brown wings with not a few white and orange yellow spots. Still, the male has a mimicry type, quite similar to the appearance of Wallace's golden birdwing, with different abdomens. The common mormon is black, while the Wallace's golden birdwing is red. The fodder of its larvae is plants like citrus fruits and Taiwan wampees.
