Eurema hecobe (common grass yellow)
Family pieridae
Tle Adult Eurema hecobe (common grass yellow) dwells in low to intermediate mountain areas and distributes all over the island, especially in central to southern mountain areas. It looks like the Eurema blanda arsakia (three-spot grass yellow), but with smaller wing shape. The male common grass yellow has dark yellow wing surfaces, while those of the females’ are light yellow. What differentiates it from the three-spot grass yellow is that it has inconspicuous corners at the outer edges of the hind wings. Besides, most common grass yellows have yellow fine fluffs at the outer edges of their wings. The fodder of the larvae is Sesbania cannabina Pers.
