Danaus chrysippus (monarch butterfly)

Residing in ground level and low altitude mountain areas, the Danaus chrysippus (monarch butterfly) is a commonly seen species. It has orange wings with white spots on the tips. The difference between male and female is that the female has three spots while the male has four. The fodder of its larvae is blood-flower milkweeds.
