Apriona rugicollis (mulberry borer)

The Apriona rugicollis (mulberry borer) spreads islandwide in low to intermediate altitude mountains, phototropic to light source at night. Its larvae’ host plants are white mulberries and paper mulberries. The mulberry borer often appears from May to July. It has a yellow green body with faint sheen, antennas checkered with black and gray, transverse folds on the pronotum and first half of the elytra, and spikes along the side margins of the pronotum.
