With a length of 30 centimeters, the Streptopelia chinensis (ashy wood pigeon) has a dark brown beak, purple red legs. Its head is gray on top, black on the neck and neck sides, variegated with white spots, gray on the sides. Its outer tail feathers are black with white ends; wings are light brown with light feather edges, and a light purple red prone surface. Showing up in ground plains and plains and foothills of low altitude areas, its main feature is conspicuous white spots on the hind neck. Often foraging in open grounds, it sings with deep sounds, letting out “coo, coo, coo, coo” melody.
