With a length of 14 centimeters, the Prinia flaviventris (yellow-bellied prinia) has a mostly brown back, extra-long tail feathers with undertint fine horizontal stripes, a dark gray face with fine eyebrows, a white throat and chest, and a yellow-white prone surface. It shows up in farming lands and open grasslands of ground level to intermediate altitude areas. Often seen to stand on grass stalks in spring and summer, loudly letting out melodic sounds or “mei~”sounds.
