With a length of 20 centimeters, the Megalaima oorti (Muller's barbet) has a thick black beak, leaden legs, a bright green body, and a blue head. With yellow color on the brow and the throat, the Muller’s barbet has red spots on the front of the eyes and upper chest, black eyebrow spots. Also called a colored bird because it has green, blue, yellow, red, and black colors on the body. It shows up in the surroundings of broad-leaved forests, nesting in tree holes. Its muffled “quack, quack” sounds, similar to those when monks hit the mokugyo wooden fish, accompanied with its colorful head, get the nickname of “dandy monk” in Chinese. It is clumsy in flying, with a wavy flight route.
