Location of Appearance: The silting basins, small ponds, and big ponds.

With a length of 40 centimeters, the ixobrychus cinnamomeus (cinnamon bittern) is a small-size chestnut brown egret with light brown abdomen. The male bird has brown vertical lines from the throat to the chest, and white spots on the sides of the chest; while the female bird has white spots on the back, and several dark brown vertical stripes from the neck to the chest. It shows up singly or in pairs in the underbrush of watery areas in swamps and paddy fields of the plains to low elevation areas. When doing the vigilance, it often erects its head and neck. Standing still in the grass for a long time to mimic the surroundings, it is not easy to spot.
