Hypolimnas bolina kezia (great egg-fly)
Family Nymphalidae
Living in ground level and low to intermediate altitude mountain areas, the Hypolimnas bolina kezia (great egg-fly) likes visiting flowers and gathering nectar from rotten fruits. The Duck Watching Platform and the pavilion on the east side are often frequented by it. It has dark brown wing surfaces, a blue purple spot on the center of each wing, and a white spot embedded in the blue purple spot except for the female great egg-fly. The wing prone surfaces of the two sexes are similar, with that of the male’s oblique fascia on the hind wings more salient. Its larvae’s fodder is plants like sweet potatoes, gold Axile arrows, and Broomjute Sidas.
